Meet the Guests

You will be able to have an extended sit-down and meet-and-greet with our special guests. This will be more intimate than a traditional autograph session.

You will get a behind-the-scenes tour of the convention space before anyone else gets a chance to see it. Come see where and how the magic happens.

Live preview

A live preview of ShadoCon’s shows will be presented to you at dinner. A fantastic dance, a thrilling fight, a touching emotional moment – you name it.

Dinner

A delicious dinner will be provided to you, complete with dessert. The menu options are below; there is a chicken option, a fish option, and a vegetarian option.

The Dinner With the Guests takes place Thursday, November 10^th, 2011, at 8 pm at the Crowne Plaza. Though it starts at 8 pm, we recommend getting there early to make sure everything runs on time.

Tickets for this fabulous event are only $30, so make sure you grab a spot before they all fill up!

Chicken Rosemary -

Grilled breast of chicken infused with rosemary and red currant glaze, with roasted potatoes.

Grilled Mahi Mahi -

Grilled Mahi Mahi with lemon chive aioli and tropical fruit salsa, served with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes.

Vegetable Mediterranean Couscous -

Asparagus, eggplant, zucchini, portobello mushrooms, roasted red peppers and squash cooked in an aromatic vegetable broth and drizzled with lemon chive aioli

Chii is a J-pop singer from Tokyo, Japan. She has performed live throughout Tokyo for over three years and recently moved to the United States, where she is continuing her musical career. Originally, Chii was the singer for the pop unit Twinkle Party Dream in Japan and now performs solo. She and composer, Nucky, have written original songs with a concept of a fantasy world. Chii will release her first album, “Mirage,” in November 2011. This album has both high-energy and ambient styles and will include some songs with English and Japanese versions. Chii’s current ambition is to share Japanese fairytales with Americans. Enjoy her fantasy world!

Character Creation Contest 

Once again, we will be having our Character Creation Contest! Artists of all types are invited to submit original characters. If chosen, these characters will be “chibi-fied” and used in the ShadoCon guide book and in various other ways around the con.  We will be selecting two male and two female characters to use. Rules for this contest can be found on the ShadoCon website.

Ultimate Bishonen Showdown

Mecha Chocobo

“Wait, why is is Ash doing that to Pikachu?! That’s not what you do with pokeballs!” Well it is here! This is Mecha Chocobo where all our favorite fandoms go to die in a blaze of hilarious glory. Internet memes, pop culture, and all our fandoms collide in this heart wrenching stage spectacular. Mecha Chocobo is late night ‘R’ Rated show in the style of robot chicken filled with 2 types of jokes bad and worse. Our mission is make you’re eyes water whether its tears of joy and laughter or pain and sorrow (that choice is really up to you).

Come join us for an evening filled with great horrible scenes… or horribly great scenes? Either way make sure you bring your ID because this show is for 18 and up, no exceptions. (Sorry little Timmy this one’s not for you.)

Dealer room a bore? Already owned everyone in the game room? Can’t wait for the rave? Well loosen the gears, wind up those cogs, and throw some more coal in the ol’ steam engine as it’s time again for the crew of the Zephyrus to host The Steampunk Dance Party. Join us as DJ Rekon brings you some the steamiest beats from around the known world. Come learn some new dance moves, meet new friends, and dance your cares away. Steampunk attire is encouraged but is NOT required. Here on the Zephyrus we take you as you are, so join us as we bring back the Steampunk Dance Party.

Pleasure Pixels

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, come one and come all to the Special Events Room Saturday at 11pm! The Pleasure Pixels debut show is going to be HERE at Shadocon 2011! We are the hottest new burlesque Troupe in Tampa with a nerdy twist. Get ready to see your favorite Comic Book, Anime, and Video Game characters try their hand at Burlesque for our hour long show! We’ll have the sultry appeal of a classic burlesque show with modern influences and using your favorite characters. This will be the show of your dreams, so get there early because seating is limited. Due to the nature of this show, our audience will consist of patrons 18 and over and we will be checking at the door. For our debut show as a special promotional bonus we won’t be charging any cover, so enjoy our debut show for free! We can’t wait to see everyone there!

First, we are pleased to announce that Travis Willingham will be at ShadoCon!

Travis is probably best known as the voice of Colonel Roy Mustang in the hit anime series’ FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST and FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: BROTHERHOOD. His other anime credits include Juugo/Black Zetsu in NARUTO, Akon in BLEACH, Yu Kanda in D GRAY MAN, Pierre in AQUARION, Badrick Serihan in BLACK BLOOD BROTHERS, Andreas Darlton in CODE GEASS, Iggy in ERGO PROXY, Kaiji in GUNXSWORD, Cleo in GLASS FLEET, Ginko in MUSHISHI, Portgas D. Ace in ONE PIECE, Takigawa in GHOST HUNT, Eustoma in SHUFFLE, and parts in the upcoming releases for MARVEL ANIME. Most recently, Travis provided the CGI Motion Capture for the multitude of Frost Giants in THOR. Other films include SECONDHAND LIONS, RAY, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, PRISON A- GO-GO, THE GUARDIAN, and A PERFECT GETAWAY. He has also worked on CBS’ COLD CASE, FX’s NIP/TUCK, Fox’s PRISON BREAK, and ABC’s PRIVATE PRACTICE.

An avid gamer himself, some of Travis’ video game credits include CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS, Knuckles the Echidna in SEGA’s SONIC THE HEDGEHOG games, Issac Frost in EA’s FIGHT NIGHT CHAMPION, Ratchet and Hotrod in TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON, Gabriel Cunningham in TRAUMA CENTER 2, American hero Guile in STREET FIGHTER 4, Nathan Hale in RESISTANCE 2, Cell in DRAGONBALL Z, Torgal in THE LAST REMNANT, Clint in TALES OF VESPERIA, Zhang Liao/Zhou Tai in DYNASTY WARRIORS 6, Evan Bernard in TIME CRISIS 4, Gabriel Celeste IN VALKYRIE PROFILE 2: SILMERIA, and many, many more.

Currently, Travis is playing The Hulk and The Human Torch in Marvel’s new animated series, THE SUPER HERO SQUAD SHOW on Cartoon Network.

Neofaust -

By day he’s a network security specialist, and by night a mild mannered musically minded mad scientist BENT on twisting old electronic gaming consoles into mangled messes of heavy hitting electronic visages they once were!!! Aside, he has always had a history of performing and producing music. Diversity has always been his aim when it came to it. Hacking, video games, sciences, and an assortment of other hobbies fit somewhere into the mix.
Overall, his main mission is to promote, organize, and spread awareness of the demo and chiptune scene throughout the Florida area.

Trey Frey -

Before three dimensional images, before highly realistic characters, before orchestrated soundtracks, there were 8-bit video games. Graphics were simple, and the music simpler. Now, decades later, 8-bit music has returned, more powerful than ever thanks to Trey Frey, a young man from Shepherdstown, WV, with a modded Gameboy and a skill for taking classic Nintendo sounds and turning them into 8-bit gold.

IAYD -

IAYD (I Am Your Destruction) uses the Nintendo Game Boy and the Nintendo Famicom to smash his way through space and the confines of classical training. For the past four years, IAYD has been playing live across the United States, almost exclusively playing in New York City and cities across Texas (namely Corpus Christi, and Austin). He has since been vicariously living through his handheld arsenal; making loud, powerful, and hard hitting electronic music since 2007.

Also part of the Chiptune Showcase are the bands Electric Children, Smiletron, USK, and NNNNNNNNN.

Are you interested in auditioning for the ShadoCon shows, but are unable to make it to either audition weekend? As long as you will be able to attend training, orientation, and rehearsals, you may send in a video tryout! The rules can be found here:
